Role: Apprentice Sales Executive

I’m Caitlin Beevers and I am based in Cleckheaton. I am currently a part of the Redcentric Lead Generation team. I’ll be attending Leeds City College for the IT Technical Sales course. Outside of work commitments I play for Leeds Rhinos and England Women.

I became aware of the apprenticeship scheme when I was on a podcast with Jamie Jones-Buchanan, and he told me about the apprenticeship opportunities at Redcentric which are designed to be flexible around rugby commitments. This appealed to me as I like to keep progressing and broadening my understanding of the role.

Before joining Redcentric I was an Admin for a company called PPG who are a paint provider. I decided to move on as the chance of progression was becoming slimmer due to my altered shift hours due to my rugby commitments.

I like the idea of talking to people that I wouldn’t ordinarily talk to and hopefully creating a good impression so that we secure business off the back of building that relationship.

I’m motivated to keep progressing in the company. It is very early days but if there is a chance of progressing then I would love to take that opportunity.

The scheme suits my lifestyle massively, especially with my rugby commitments. Having flexible working hours to make sure I make it to training on time in the evenings is fantastic. If game days are on weekdays it doesn’t have to eat into our annual leave. And the working hours are sociable in comparison to the shifts I’ve been used to in the past. So, this scheme is very valuable for me.

I would say to others to definitely consider it. The Redcentric scheme is built around that understanding that for an athlete it’s hard to balance work, sport and just life in general! It also encourages you to push yourself to the best of your ability through the apprenticeship so you can develop to the highest standard which gives you more of a chance to progress.
